Newbury
Young Filmmakers is all about having fun with
filmmaking. In your group of a maximum of 15 young
people you get to 'mess around' (so to speak) with
professional HD and SD cameras each week. Each week
we do fun games and exercises to get you familiar
with different aspects of filmmaking, from
producing, directing and editing; from there, as a
group, we all work towards putting together a film
for term end.
Since 2006
Newbury Young Filmmakers have been helping young
people of all ages 'learn by doing' when it comes to
filmmaking. Some of our students are now winning
film awards at University (Sarah H), making their
own multi-thousand pound budget movies (Matt M) or
working on multi-million budget productions (Luke
B)!
We leave the
reading, essays and theory to college and UNI - this
'film school' is all about the production side of
things, and learning how we learned - hands on,
ready, set, action stuff!
Not only will you find out the
best 'filmic' shots to use in your productions,
you'll learn about white balancing, how to correctly
zoom & focus, crossing the line... and you'll learn
it all by doing it whilst making your film!
